Das Berggasthaus Kernhof ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel und ein zentraler Ausgangspunkt für herliche Wanderungen. Mit einem Platzangebot von 90 Sitzplätzen ist der Kernhf auch gerüstet für grössere Veranstaltungen und Festlichkeiten. Weiterhin lädt eine gemütliche Gartenterrasse im Sommer zum Verweilen ein. Im Kernhof wird der Besucher noch nach alter Schwarzwälder Tradition umsorgt, gleichgültig, ob er gepflegte Küche oder aber "Deftiges" liebt. Eigene Landwirtschaft, Hausschlachtung, eine Hausbrennerei und Kuchenrezepte vergangener Tage sind Garant für das leibliche Wohl.
